Cary Norman paints, draws and sculpts, regularly exhibiting her work as well as taking on private commissions. Her work is inspired by natural and familiar forms. She takes a particular interest in kinetic energy and the effects that time has on the materials she uses, particularly her metal garden sculptures.
Cary Norman trained as a typographic designer at the London College of Communication and worked running design studios for 10 years. She then went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Art and Design, and subsequently qualified as a lecturer in art and design (PGCE) at Suffolk New College, where she has been teaching drawing, painting, history of art and photography for five years. She has recently co-founded DrawEast residential drawing workshops.
